2012 2nd Annual Fatherhood Walk
Making history in Toledo Ohio! Over 200 walkers rallied together for the 2nd Annual Fatherhood Walk that was organized by the grassroots organization, RESTORE Inc. Supporters walked the 2 mile trek through Toledo neighborhoods. All the while chanting the walk's signature call and response"What do you need"? Fathers! "When do you need them"?Now! The energy could only be experienced as neighbors gathered on their porches to clap or raise their thumbs up. It was clear from the stream of honking horns and whistles Toledo residents are supportive of this organization and the call for Fathers to rise up in their role as fathers to their children and to the fatherless.
The walk began with remarks from Mike Bell, Mayor of Toledo, State Representative, Mike Ashford, and Ohio Commission on Fatherhood Chairman, Dave Kontur encouraging fathers and the community. OPNFF’s board president, James McDonald, keynote speaker, delivered a provocative, challenging, and inspiring message to all in attendance. Founder of R.E.S.T.O.R.E., Inc., Mark Robinson and his family, Catherine (wife), Marquel (son), and Moriah (daughter), led the way for the 2nd Annual Fatherhood Walk . Walkers enjoyed free lunch, giant inflatable play land, live music, and raffle prizes.
